Reliance Industries Limited or RIL announced their new product JioPhone2 along with the Jio GigaFiber high-speed broadband services on the 41st Annual General Meeting or AGM of Reliance Industries at Mumbai. The recent model, Jio Phone was a feature phone, and that was launched last year for a price of Rs.1,500 along with some cashback schemes, with a final cost of Zero. The new JioPhone 2 model with advanced features was launched by Mukesh Ambani’s son Akash Ambani and his daughter Isha Ambani, is priced at Rs.2,999. The latest one can be referred as a modified version of the first version. They made many significant improvements, included some new features also regarding both hardware and software that were not available or added in the first version.

JioPhone 2 Specifications
The device comes with a dual-core processor with 512MB RAM and has 4GB internal storage, which can be expanded upto 128GB with a micro SD card. It has a 2.4” QVGA display (240x320p) and a QWERTY keypad. It has a 2000 mAh capacity battery and has a 2MP camera on the back (rear camera) and VGA Front Camera (0.3MP) on the front, for essential purposes like video calling. It comes with the KaiOS, which is a Firefox-based feature phone platform and able to support almost all popular applications like Whatsapp, Youtube, Facebook, etc. and also able to operate using voice commands.
The JioPhone 2 comes with a dedicated button for the voice commands along with a four-way navigation key and having a hardware QWERTY keyboard, and it will be available to buy from 15 August 2018. It has quite good connectivity features with Dual Nano Sim slots that supports LTE and VoWi-Fi and having 150Mbps LTE, NFC, GPS, Wi-Fi, FM radio and Bluetooth LE.
JioPhone 2 Launch date
The telecommunication service provider Reliance Jio owned by Mr.Mukesh Ambani announced JioPhone 2, their new feature phone with QUERTY keypad with 2.40-inch QVGA display, which is designed like a Blackberry bar phone on 05 July 2018, Thursday. The new one will be available to buy, or the product booking starts on 15 August 2018. So, on this Indian Independence Day, Jio launching or presenting their new model to us.
So, the phone will be available from August 15 with an introductory price of Rs 2,999. The company officially announced details about the Monsoon Hungama offer, in which anyone having old Jio feature phone can exchange with the new JioPhone with a price of as low as Rs.501.

While comparing with the first Jio Phone model, they have made several changes in both the design and software. The design of the new model looks similar to a Blackberry Bar phone, and it supports the most popular apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, etc. and few of these apps were not supported in the first model, and they managed to include that in the new model.

Reliance Jio Phone Vs JioPhone 2

Do JioPhone 2 have a Wi-Fi Hotspot? Most of you have the same doubt because this feature was not available in the first version and it was the major drawback of the first model.
